WANDA is a powerful and user-friendly programme for the hydraulic design and optimization of pipeline systems. Design engineers and operators use WANDA to study the steady and dynamic behaviour of liquid, heat, gas and slurry flows in arbitrarily configured pipeline networks. The software can be linked to other applications, e.g. for operator training systems or advanced real-time control. WANDA has been developed by Deltares, it is extensively tested, validated and designed for engineers by engineers.
The WANDA API (Application programming interface) is a new addition to WANDA which enables to possibilities of writing scripts to perform certain task (e.g. creating figures, building of models, etc.). The WANDA API is accessible from Python, C and C# (.Net platform). This gives the user the freedom to choose its own preferred platform to write scripts. During the course we will be focusing on Python. During the course the following topics will be covered:
- Basic structure of the WANDA API
- Creating figures from an existing case
- Creating a model with data from different sources
- Parameter study.
Users who attend the course should have experience with Python 3 and basic WANDA modelling.
