Give different people the same recipe, the final dish will still taste different.
This is also true for computer models: with the same model and the same research question, the final model results will be different for different modelers. Modelers make many decisions when setting up a model, large and small, conscious and unconscious, important for the output or less important. In this workshop we will discuss and demonstrate which decisions we make as modelers, how we make these decisions, and what their impact is on model results. But is this only up to the modeler? The modeler is just one link in the chain from clients asking the questions to decision makers using the results.
If you are not involved with the hands-on modelling, how can you still contribute to model quality? We will start this discussion based on a quality assurance framework.
