Recent developments in the Delft3D FM Suite and in computation capacity have enabled the design of more and more efficient and detailed coupled hydrodynamic-water quality models for marine environments at large scales. Such models are used, for example, to support local water management authorities, or to investigate ecological effects of climate change in combination with future marine spatial planning initiatives.

In this webinar we will show the capabilities of the Delft3D FM Suite for studies on large-scale future changes in marine environments, for example in relation to energy transition, food transition and nature restoration. This will be illustrated with applications from past and ongoing projects of the 3D Dutch Continental Shelf Model (3D DCSM-FM, https://www.deltares.nl/en/projects/3d-dutch-continental-shelf-model-flexible-mesh-2), used to investigate the ecological functioning of North Sea.

This will be followed by a Q&A session.
