There is a daily free bus transfer from the WestCord Hotel Delft and Hampshire Hotel Delft Centre to the Deltares campus and back. Please indicate here on which days you want to have a seat on the bus. If your plans change and you will not make use of the bus transfer, please let us know by removing the checkmarks!

On the afternoon of Wednesday 14 November 2018 (13.00-18.00 hrs) participants are offered the field trip to initiatives showing how the Dutch kept their feet dry and how they are preparing for future climate challenges.
The trip includes the visit to the Maeslant Storm Surge Barrier and the Sand Engine.
Sand Engine (13.30 - 14:30)
To the south of The Hague is the Sand Engine. This large scale sand nourishment strengthens the coastal defence system. The Sand Engine is a great example of building with nature. You will enjoy this short visit to the beach.
Maeslant Storm Surge Barrier (15.30 - 17:00)
Keringhuis, an information centre about the Maeslant Storm Surge Barrier (Maeslantkering) will be visited. The water management in the province of South-Holland will be explained. After the visit to the ‘Keringhuis’ which provides a fine view of the huge storm surge barrier, you will visit the barrier yourself.
