Delft-FEWS International User Days 2019: Early Warning in Action

The programme
Keeping this year’s theme in mind, we welcome Delft-FEWS users from around the globe for two active days in the Netherlands. We kick off both days with a special keynote speaker:

  • Day 1: Dr. Alain Pietroniro, Executive Director, National Hydrological Service of Canada,  Meteorological Service of Canada. The discussion and presentation will focus on description of the current state of the Canadian flood-forecasting efforts, both regionally and national. Details on modelling infrastructure and model development along with challenges in hydrological prediction within the Canadian context are highlighted.
  • Day 2: May Layugan, Manager Operations Center, Philippine Red Cross will give a keynote address about the digitalization of the Vulnerability Capacity Assessment as well as the modernization of the command center and how it helps the organization from all phases of disaster; from preparedness to response to recovery through the combination of volunteers, logistics and information technology.

Taking part

For the breakout session ‘show your system’ we invite you to share the ideas of your system. Please contact us at if you want to participate.

Once you have registered for the event, you can also sign up for the conference dinner (on 6 November) by checking the box, and for the shuttle bus that will bring you to the Deltares campus.
