This 3-day course aims to provide the participants with a good understanding of the significance of data and models to create “evidence“ for decision making in humanitarian and development settings. This training has been designed specifically for our International Organization for Migration (IOM) participants. It covers the following topics:
Module 1: Water shed management
- System approach for watershed management
- Water, Sanitation and hygiene in the watersheds
Module 2: Water availability
- Hydrological modelling for decision-making
- Groundwater recovery
- Rainwater harvesting
Module 3: Flood risk prevention & mitigation
- Critical infrastructure and cascading effects
- Participatory actions to reduce flood risks
- Drainage systems
At the end of the course, you should have a better insight on the benefits of data and models for making evidence-based decisions in a humanitarian and development settings.
